Del Mar Fair, june 13th

As always The Del Mar Fair (DMF) is always fun. This was Joshes first time going. The first thing Josh said was, "It doesn't smell like animals!" DMF is a classier fair. With classier foods, such as a zuwennie (hot dog stuffed in a pickle stuffed in a corn dog bun on a stick) or bacon dipped in chocolate. Sick! Josh also noticed there weren't any visible mullets.

The weather was a nice 70 something with an ocean breeze. Plus the ocean is just on the other side of the ferris wheel so there really was an ocean breeze. There were tons of crazy contraptions and food things to purchase.

Us in the Game Zone.

Lots and lots of games to choose from with extremely loud pop music blaring. Not so much my thing, but it is Michelles thing because she always wins.

The theme for the fair had to do with Rock and Roll so we posed for the Beatles album cover.

Skating, California Burritos and Rock & Roll

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, in my Tummy, Tummy ( i stole this from Yo Gabba Gabba)! California Burritos from Lolitas are the bestest burritos ever!!! I'm not even exaggerating. Your taste buds will go crazy if they taste these. We ate our Burritos at a park in Eastlake which had a skatepark.

This is what one looks like mid conquering of the burrito. French fries, cheese, sour cream, guacamole and carne asada have never tasted better.

Josh

Josh loves that my hometown, Chula Vista has mini skate parks. So we went to one and he a a blast.

My Dad and his band Rock-It Science

That night (friday) we went to go see my dads band Rock-It Science play. Its fun to see my dad in his element. He loves rocking out on the Bass. The band sounded great. They have a really good singer (the girl) two guys on guitar, my dad on the bass and a drummer. We didn't get to stay for the whole time. 1 am is a little late for me, but not my dad. They play a mix of songs from the 60's to now. My favorite was Joan Jet's "Bad Reputation."

It was like a perfect san diego day minus the beach :)

Coronado . . . always a photo op

Me, Mom & Michelle

I love Coronado Beach, the Hotel Del Coronado and all of Coronado. It's such a cool quiet sophisticated beach town. When I'm rich I will be moving to Coronado. It has the sweetest beach house mansions. Some are old and some are new, but all have a charm to them.

We all went to La Salsa that night for dinner. My dad had to leave early for Band practice. It was great to smell the ocean and have my feet in the wonderful sand. Man, I miss the beach (oh, and being tan).

Me & Michelle

These rocks are awesome at low tide. They are filled with sea rock life and unique shells. I have always loved exploring them in in the summer.

Michelle being happy.

Michelle'ls Graduation

Last Wednesday, was the day Michelle graduated from the HHS Transition Program. It's a program that starts after high school for disabled people. Its a 4 year program which teaches  life skills. Michelle learned to cook, ride public transportation, how to count money, make purchases, work a "real job" (Longs Drug Store, Party Supply Store, DW School Supplies and WaMu) and much, much more. As the big sister I'm really proud of her. She stuck through it and did it!

The graduates {Michelle, Eric, Ericka & Monique}

We had a graduation party that night. Here is the delicious Costco cake. It was so good!

Josh teaching Chelsea guitar basics after my Dad taught her complicated guitar basics.  It is the cutest little guitar, I want one!

He He, This is my cat Juliana. She is almost 15 yrs. old. She has turned into a funny old little thing. She was yawning when I snapped this photo.  It looks like she is either going to eat you or thinks your pretty funny.

I'll post more about the rest of our trip later.

Making Sushi

Last Thursday night we made sushi with Cody and Beth. Sushi is awesome! And the sushi we made actually tasted really good. We had spicy salmon, teriyaki chicken and imitation crab. We cooked all the mean minus the crab just to be safe. Cody and Beth are pros so they showed us how to do it and it was really easy. We also had in the rolls cucumber, carrots, cream cheese, avocado and of course rice and seaweed stuff. Oh and wasabi.

Beths rolls. My rolls with spicy salmon. Josh made a "meat lovers roll" with all the meat in it. We all thought it was pretty funny.  Make sushi, its fun!

Good Finds

I finally completely cleaned out my old desk that my parents brought up. This was my desk from home which I have had since i was 14. Needless to say there were some treasures which stirred up some old memories.

How can I throw away my old Billabong wallet and first trusty old Walkman?

Why did I keep these stickers? Why didn't I ever use them? Stickers were such coveted sticky little things back then. I never used them and I really don't think ill use them now. So sad.

I don't remember making this, but apparently I did. Proof of my weirdness.

I was 5 and styling while on the easter egg hunt.

Michelle and I posing for a Christmas photo back in 1990 which didn't really go too well. This was one of the more cooperative shoots. My parents are still sad about it.
