"On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas - a woman like none he's ever known. But just as he realizes he's falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart. David learns he is up against the agents of Fate itself - the men of The Adjustment Bureau - who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path... or risk everything to defy Fate and be with her."
I loved this movie. Not just because Matt Damon is in it, I thought the story was really intriguing. This is because I love to think about how all of these little things that I have done/not done in life have brought me to where I am today. Fate is an amazing thing. We are all placed on this earth to accomplish and experience different things. Some things are meant to happen. Some just don't happen. Sometimes we change our course in life which opens up new opportunities for us.
How is it that a girl from San Diego and a boy from Pocatello fall in love and find each other? There were a few ways it could have happened. Joshes parents could have stayed in SD after they were married and Josh and I could have lived in the same Ward or Stake. We could have meet at a Stake Dance. Who knows?
How is it that we both went to BYU-I when there are tons of colleges we could have went to? I didn't get into BYU so BYU-I was the next option. When Josh was on his mission his mom sent an application for Josh for BYU-I and he got in.
I think about how we could have missed meeting each other on campus. Josh hated the school and was on his last semester before he was about to transfer to Boise State. I never would have bought a meal plan since i was living in an apartment, but my parents didn't want me to starve. It was a good thing I didn't schedule classes during Joshes 3 hr shift or else he would have never tried to woo me with extra meatballs during lunch.
I thought it was interesting how we kept running into each other. I saw him skateboarding to school so I tired to be "cool" and try to catch up with him. The amazing thing was he was doing the same. He saw me all over school after that because we kept running into each other.
Eventually we went on our first date and were inseparable. Two years later we got married, then finished out school, then moved to UT, started our carriers, bought a house, adopted 2 cute baby cats, and now we are starting our family. All this has happened over the past 7 years. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! I'm glad "Fate" or the "Adjustment Bureau" somehow brought us together. I personally believe it was determined before we came to earth. I just think it's pretty amazing, somehow through two peoples decisions and environment, two people can be brought together who were made for each other.
