We partied like it was 2010! We had fondue (cheese & chocolate). Played Ticket to Ride and Beatles Rockband and hungout.

Happy New Years everyone! I hope this year will be an exciting/successful one for everyone. This past year was great. We are so blessed to have such a great family and awesome friends who we love.

Christmas 2009: Wyricks

My family came for Christmas/New years week. So we had 2 Christmases this year!

The Reason for the Season!

It was a lot of fun having my family here. We did a lot! Below was our list of things to do.

Christmas 2009: Ormonds

This Christmas was a blast. We decided to keep it real and return to our arctic roots. You can say we kept it realer than real. Going to Pocatello for the holiday was really fun. The Ormond horn of gathering was blown and it's forlorn bellow was heard from the far slopes of the Texan oil fields, to the high plains of Idaho's capital city, to the citris orchards of southern California. We all came bareing gifts of Nerf, Coach, and Tom Tom.

Having most of the Ormonds in one place at one time doesn't happen very often, but when it does watch out. The festivities began on Christmas eve. An Ormond family tradition is to exchange family gifts on Christmas eve. We each draw a name the year before. I drew Julie last year and couldn't figure out what to get her until Thanksgiving. She mentioned that she loved Us Weekly but her subscription was up. Can you be set up any better for a Christmas gift? I submit you can not.

Julie loved her subscription to Us Weekly. Natalie had Aaron, who is usually hard to shop for. Natalie is pretty skilled at shop-fu though. She found this crazy cool v-neck sweater at J Crew. AO loved it. AO gave Natalie a Coach purse, Natalie hasn't stopped looking at it.

Every year Natalie and I get the nieces and nephews a gift. Natalie got the nieces these awesome scarves, headbands, and lip gloss. They went nuts for them. The nephews were my responsibility and they were pretty trickier than I thought. I ended up stressing out over them. Tyler and Maxwell got car sets, Mitch got a Nerf sword, Fisher got a Bionicle, and Alex got a rubber ducky. They all loved their presents.

The day after Christmas we decided to go to Lava Hotsprings, which is always an adventure. If you haven't experienced Lava Hotsprings you really need to. The place is G to the H ghetto, but pretty awesome at the same time. Go figure. We also had some Thai food in Lava that was awesome. It was really fun to hang out with the brothers and sisters again. We don't get many chances to have grown up only hang out time so when we do we make the most of it.

All and all Christmas was pretty fantastic. Hanging out with my family is super fun. And I decided to give the world a Christmas gift this year in the form of a Christmas beard. At first Natalie wasn't too hip to the shag carpeted face version of Josh, but she's coming around. She says I look like a rugged mountain man. I'm trying to arrange a lumber jack photo shoot. I have the flannel and the face scarf, all I need is an axe.

Next year Christmas will be with the Wyricks in San Diego.

Josh (Jackson) & Candice . . .

got engaged! Its always exciting when close friends (who are considered family) get engaged. To make the occasion even better was the invite from Josh. We were like, "are you sure you want us there?" Josh said, "Yes. There will be tons of people there who we won't know so I might as well have some people there that I do know." My favorite part besides the proposal was the fog and my Josh yelling out,"Joel McHale is getting married!" Some girl was like "OMG, is THAT really him??? Priceless. :)

Merry Christmas 2009

We hope you had a Merry Christmas! We did and still are :) There is more to come about our Christmas Festivities (when we get time to post).

The P-Town to SLC Christmas Extravaganza Fondue Holiday Spectacular!

It's really nice having so many close friends around us now. Several of Joshes friends from way back when, live in close proximenty of us. So the other weekend we were at Jessie & Trevors house warming fondue party and we all decided we needed to do a christmas party. We did (last weekend), kicked it up several knotches and had a blast! There was lots of laughing and crying as usual. Sometimes you forget how great it is to be with good friends.

There was a 3 course fondue meal. Cheese (Josh & I), Deep frying (Jessie & Trevor) and chocolate (Carlee & Zac). Everything was sooo yummy. The cheese smelled so sick while I was making it. We were all skeptical, but it tasted really good. Trevors "chicken balls" that were deep fried and tempura vegetables were really tasty too. At first we were all like, oil fondue . . . wierd, but it turned out to be delicious. The chocolate fondue was super good. How can you not like dipping yummy treats into chocolate and then consuming them?

The next part was the white elephant gift exchange. It was hilarious.

Beth opened her present and got a hat which spelled "Bride" in rhinestones. And a bride shot glass necklace. Perfect if your getting married.

I received "Real Women have Curves."

Zac stole the trash bags from Cody and Cody then received some sweet CD's.

Andy got a Nerf gun. Trevor got the coveted Specialized bike pump and I forget what Jessie got.

I gave up my Fast and Furious soundtrack. Taylor couldn't have been happier. I forget what Carlee got.

Josh got "The Last Don" VHS set featuring Steven Segal.

It used to be air-soft wars, but luckily it turned into a Nerf gun war. This ended the exchange. We then moved onto Cranium which is always a treat. All in all it was a really fun night for everyone. It was really good to see Tandy Tangle (Taylor and Andy). We were glad they made the trip from P-town. I hope to do this again next Christmas.

AFI

I finally saw AFI live. This has been a dream for many years and I'm glad it finally happened! Josh saw them back in the day, but it was still awesome for him too. This was during our "concert week." Dashboard on Friday and then AFI on Tuesday. Could life have been any better? Two concerts in a weeks span of time never happens!

Davey came out in a silver leather suit. It was ridiculously amazing. Everyone went nuts as soon as they started playing. In the Venue was packed. We went with our friends Josh and Candice and got a spot on the balcony. Davey even jumped into the crowed during the first song which let us know how wild the show would be.

AFI is a fun band to see live. There were well orchestrated jumps, swinging guitars and a few dance moves. The band played great. Daveys voice was phenomenal even with his surgery on his vocal cords a few years back. He has great range and great screams. I can't deny my love for punk rock. One crazy fan jumped from the stairs down onto the stage. It was great. AFI played a good range of songs from all albums, minus Black Sails in Sunset.

These are all photos from my phone so they aren't the best, but you get the point. This concludes our concert week and the nostalgia because these are bands from the high school and college chapters of our life. I love live rock. Nothing is better then a good concert.
