3 Legitimate Fears

1. Snakes
I just find them so creepy and weird. Once in 4th grade I got to take home our class garden snake. I held it and kinda liked it, but then I decided, it was really gross and unpredictable. In Zoo School one summer our class got to help hold this gigantic boa constrictor. It was so heavy and thick. Again creepy. I always dream that a snake is biting me and then I wake up. I guess I have a fear of a snake biting me.

2. Dying/loosing someone close to me before they are old
I don't want to die before I am in my old age. I want to experience life. I don't want anyone that I am close to, to die young. I believe I will be with my family for an eternity which is comforting, but I want us to live together for a long time here on earth before returning to be with our Heavenly Father. Life is somewhat unpredictable and I sometimes worry something will go wrong.

3. Being trapped somewhere small or lost.
I am claustrophobic. I hate being in small crowded rooms. It freaks me out. I think this is because when I was in kindergarden a girl locked me in the bathroom. Im pretty sure it was for about 30 seconds, but it felt like 5 mins. I don't like being lost because it annoys me. I'm a weirdo that pays attention to where I am and how I got there. I can usually find how to get somewhere again if I have been there only once before.

All about Ollie

What I am loving about Ollie Boy right now

I love...
watching you explore things.
How you point to everything and want to show us what you are interested in.
How you lose all composure once you see an elephant.
If you see a bird you sign a bird and you are so thrilled
The love you have for yeti and gnarly is so sweet. Every cat tackle and love pat you give makes you so happy.
Your expression and tone of "no" is spot on.
Nursery isn't your favorite thing and I secretly like how you want to snuggle right before its time to go. But then you are fine once we leave.
You are a show off.
The little red car outside keeps you entertained for hours.
Vacuums are your thing. You know your way around a Dyson and a Kirby.
When you are happy your entire demeanor changes. You perk up, talk really sweetly and get super animated.
Blankie, Pacie and Mickey calm you down.
I like how when you want to go outside you like to pick my shoes. You always want me to wear my winter Sarah Pailin boots.
The suds from your shampoo fascinate you.
Your head nods and shakes are the best.
Hearing you say cheese and thank you is the best.
How you try to put your little Nikes or Stride Rite Ernie shoes over your footie Jammie's in the morning because you want to go outside.

Baumgardners Visit Utah

In feb one of my bestest friends came to visit. We meet in 7th grade and have been close friends since!

I told them on Facebook that there was tons of snow and they should come and visit. And then, well, they did 2 weeks later.

Oh, the FUN we had! The Baumgsrdners are what I call "easy friends". Easy friends are easy to be around. Where you can be doing anything and have the best time.

They got in Thursday night and we ate tacos and hung out.

Friday we ventured to City Creek, Temple Square, outside snow playing and Red Rock.

Thsi was stolen from Wesley's facebook.
1. they got hung up outside of Mesquite on their drive up

Jude and Ollie played really well together. Jude is so sweet and well behaved (he has some awesome parents). He called me Mrs. Natalie the whole time! Him and Josh have a lot in common with their love of legos and Star Wars.

Saturday we went up to Big Cottonwood canyon and went sledding for the day. We had dinner at my parents house and visited.

It was so great to have the Baungardners visit. It was so fun to catch up, reminisce about the middle school and HS days and have LOTs of fun. They are also such a great example of a happy couple and family. We can't wait to have them back again!

18 months

Ollie will be 18 months this week. During Jose first few weeks I never thought this day would come and how much change has happened in Oliver's life so far.

He gets more and more independent and learns so much everyday. I love it!

Today was a big day at church because Ollie go to go Nursery. He did great! No crying despite that it was right in the middle if nap time. When I said bye one of the nursery leaders said, " don't say bye he will cry. Just slip out quietly." Well she was wrong because I say bye to Ollie during the week when he goes to my moms and he is fine. He actually likes saying goodbye and waving. He has never cried once when josh or I leave to go to work. He's not like those other kids! I say that now, but we will have to see what the future holds.

I am looking forward to this week because some of my very best friends are coming into town and staying with us. It will be so fun doing winter Utah activities and showing them the sites.

Cabin Fever Saturday

Today and the last 3 days have been lame. The air quality is the worst in the country, the temp is in the teens, we had an ice storm leaving everything covered in a sheet of ice, oh, and I have a 1 1/2 year old. It's just no fun being outside!

The only outings have been to get my car registered, we went out to eat with my father-in-law last night and dinner with my family tonight. Which the eating out part was fun. We went to Settabellos tonight and had pizza and Gelatto! Yum!

The highlight of the day for Ollie was a present of play food from my mom. He told us all about the food, laughed, clapped, smiled and danced about it. We were all cracking up. He loves an audience!

Josh wore an Idaho outfit today. I did not approve of it. He loves to bother me.

MIA

Yes this blog has not been a priority for me this past year. I had way too much fun with Instagram! So if your curious to see what happened in 2012 follow Josh or I.

I have been thinking lately that I need to record my life without a photo and a little blurb. Other things go on that aren't photographed. And then there is a part of me that feels like I should make this private so I can write all of my feelings without holding back (cause I feel I have to edit since its not private and people will think I'm crazy). But then I LOVE reading other people's blogs and learning how their lives and how they are dealing with their experiences. What to do?

For now I'm going to try and make an actual effort to record. Plus Ollie goes to bed at 8. Which means bedtime routine is done between 8:30 and 9. So what they really means is I HAVE evenings! EVENInNGS! It's so nice to have time to myself to get things done and relax again.

I might do a month by month recap of what happened last year. Or I might just say forget about it. This is what is going on now. Stay tuned!

The photo is me trying my best to keep Ollie occupied while working. A whole hot and a half ( paper clip, Q tips, I pad, play dough, toothbrush, blankie and Mickey. $ Miracles can happen!
